Abstract

The object of this article is to present a historical analysis of the formal constitution of the curriculum discipline, that started from the works of Franck Bobitt and William Charters, representatives of the efficientist of orientation during the second and third decades of this century. It describes also the curricular orientation in education. The article ends with an analysis of the antecedents of the Tylerian curricular model. It concludes that Tyler was not the only author of the model named after him, but that it rather originated from the "Eight Year Study" and works by other authors
